Re: Error Reading Information from the Internet
If you're trying to use Aid -> Check for updates, so this is a known trouble, but with the server, not OpenOffice.
Even if this was working, it would just direct yous to download the latest version of OpenOffice, which is four.one.vii, from https://www.openoffice.org/download
The simply other exception that I've heard of, but not encountered myself, is in regards to installed extensions having an update, but, again, yous would simply have been referred to the right site to download the updated extension. Many extensions have not been updated since version 4 came out, and some not even as recent as that.

Try downloading the data to your local hd, and then inserting it into Calc. OpenOffice applications accept difficulty opening files from locations in which OpenOffice does not accept read/write/file create permissions.

Re: Error Reading Information from the Internet
Why don't you lot try giving us information to assist us. Try
1. Upload the spreadsheet causing the trouble and tell us where the trouble is
2. tell u.s.a. which web site y'all are attempting to go information from and what information y'all want
3. Tell united states exactly what you want to exercise as in "I want to click the link in the attached spreadsheet so it gets x, y and z from
http://www.abc.com/somewhere
" or "When I open the spreadsheet I want information technology to go to
http://www.abc.com/somewhere
and get x, y and z" or "What ? ..."
Nosotros might and then have a better chance of understanding what yous are trying to do. As it is yous are saying "My machine won't commencement - what'southward wrong with it?"
Have you read Linking to external data on page 270 in Chapter 10 - Linking Calc Data (Sharing data in and out of Calc) of the Calc Guide? It tells yous how to find data on a web site and go information technology into Calc. If you have read information technology what don't yous sympathise?

Re: Error Reading Data from the Internet
That is no help.
Delight read this post higher up, answer the questions posed and give the information asked for and, especially, upload a .ods file showing the trouble.
Are you following the instructions in the Calc Guide? If so, at what point does it become wrong?
Does a examination work on whatsoever other spider web site? The fastened file created with LibreOffice and not AOO uses Sheet > Link to external information ..., and downloads data from
https://www.poundsterlinglive.com/
HTML_1 and HTML_2. Download it and see if it works with AOO.

2. It appears that, as the fault bulletin suggests, wellsfargo.com/mortgages prevents Calc from accessing data on its website. I don't know how to overcome information technology.
Thank you John... It seems to not work for more than Wells Fargo. I simply seem to get it to work with very unproblematic basic web sites. I heard others having similar issues without a solution. Information technology may exist a known effect already. I am not sure.

Re: Error Reading Data from the Internet
Edit: Edited to correct the address typo
As you can come across
https://wellsfargo.com/mortgage/
works fine with LibreOffice but not with the backlevel AOO 4.three which I tested it with.
It is difficult to pinpoint whether it is the application or the website causing the trouble.
Try LibreOffice. After well over 20 years of using AOO i changed to LO this calendar month considering AOO is dead and no longer finer supported. This is the second postal service in a few days where something fails in AOO but works in LO.

Re: Error Reading Data from the Net
In LO the starting time gave a message "No named ranges available in the selected certificate". The second worked for HTML_All.
It looks like LO volition be a better bet.

Re: Mistake Reading Information from the Net
From my enquiry, it appears to work for some people and non for others. I really got a few web sites to piece of work but most seem to fail. I even got Wells Fargo to work once lol. I think switching to Libra Office might be the best suggestion I heard.

Re: Error Reading Data from the Internet
In my tests LO seemed to piece of work better than AOO.
Information technology could exist the web site. Both AOO and LO seem to set a fourth dimension limit for the web site to respond - see [Solved] Extending timeout value for links to external data. Some of the suggestions at that place may help - eg download the web data to your PC separately and link the PC data to Calc.
The data you want to excerpt from the web folio must exist in a labelled class.
